Pegasus Education

With over nineteen years of experience and dedication to its education work, Pegasus Opera runs a Saturday singing academy called POSA for young people aged 8-19 and delivers bespoke education projects in partnership with schools and community organisations.

Pegasus has presented workshops for virtually every opera in its repertoire includingCarmen, The Magic Flute, The Love Potion, Koanga and Treemonisha.

Pegasus has established good working relationships with a large number of London boroughs including Westminster, Lamberth, Southwark, Brent, Hackney and Enfield. Pegasus Opera's education programme has become an integral part of the company's work. Education packages are designed to run alongside or independently of the main opera productions.

In 2008 Pegasus was chosen to be one of six Sing Up flagship organisations across the UK, a government initiative to bring singing and music into primary schools in England and Wales. This Sing Up project culminated in a production of Clothesburger, an Opera written for children by 420 school children from 8 schools with Composer Errollyn Wallen.  The Opera was performed at the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank.
