This production of I Pagliacci brought Pegasus Opera and English Touring Opera together for the first time.
Pagliacci is one of the first and finest verismo operas. Leoncavallo combines the story of a jealous husband and his unfaithful wife with a performance by a troop of actors. The story contains the heart-rending aria 'Vesti la giubba' and reaches a climax in which stark reality can no longer be hidden from the audience.
